The European Union’s goal for 2020 is known as “20-20-20 Target”, aimed against climate change and contributing to the gradual decarbonization of the energy system, which consists of: a 20% reduction in EU greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels; a 20% improvement in the EU’s energy efficiency; and raising the share of EU energy consumption produced from renewable resources to 20%.
In Spain, the goal for 2030 has been set at 32% of renewable energy consumption.
